Romolo Gagliardi was born in Montalto Uffugo on 12/13/1953, he graduated in architecture at the University of Reggio Calabria in 1979 and since 1980 has practiced the profession of architect in the same municipality. At the same time as an architect, he has always cultivated a passion for the figurative arts and painting. He begins to draw on paper depicting shapes and objects concerning social issues. In his works, he highlights his research in the decomposition and recomposition of figures and shapes, highlights the creation of anthropomorphic images that stimulate active and re-creative participation in the observer of the painting, together with an emotional and introspective reading. Gagliardi also obtained from the European Academy of Arts, the recognition of artist in the field of painting, for the competence and talent demonstrated in his works and in his own art. He exhibited some of his works in Venice at the Kokonton gallery, on the theme of metamorphosis, obtaining good reviews. On the occasion of the inauguration of the new Venice Art Gallery in Venice, on August 8 this year, prof. Giorgio Gregorio Grasso presented the work "Dislikes" in the presence of the author. As a tribute to the "VISUAL ART AND CINEMA" film festival at the inauguration on September 5, 2020, it was also presented by prof. Giorgio Gregorio Grasso, the work "Turbamenti. Gagliardis works obtain public and critical acclaim everywhere.
